Is your child struggling at school, experiencing anxiety, behavioral challenges, or difficulty with emotions or peer relationships? Is your family facing stress related to a major life change, conflict, or communication difficulties?

Our child and family therapists are experienced and skilled at working with the entire family in order to address these challenges. A skillful child therapist or child psychologist can make a significant difference in the life of a child, as well as in the lives of the other family members and teachers. A dynamic family therapist can work on relationships and communication skills in order to strengthen the family as a whole. We are proud to offer high quality child and family services to Marblehead, Swampscott, Salem, Beverly, Boston, and the surrounding communities. Services are also available virtually.

Our therapists are trained in different types of therapy that uniquely address issues within the family. Some of these therapies include Family Systems, Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused, play therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Our practice provides child and family therapy designed to support children, parents, and caregivers through a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and relational concerns. Our licensed child therapists and family therapists work collaboratively with families to help children feel understood, supported, and more confident in their daily lives.

When appropriate, we collaborate with schools, teachers, and community providers, recognizing that children thrive best when supported across all areas of their lives. School and community involvement can enhance treatment outcomes and promote lasting emotional and behavioral growth.

We also offer parent training, in which you will meet with a therapist who utilizes evidence-based practices and approaches that teaches caregivers to help with their children’s difficult behaviors. This could be done through various techniques such as positive reinforcement, communication skills, or active coaching. Techniques and approaches are tailored to each individual and their family’s needs.

Effective child therapy can make a meaningful difference in a child’s emotional health, academic functioning, and relationships at home and school. Family therapy focuses on improving communication, strengthening relationships, and helping families develop healthier patterns of interaction.

We also offer Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for children ages 2-7. It consists of the therapist conducting live coaching to caregivers to work together to manage challenging behaviors (e.g., hitting, defiance, anger outbursts). It consists of two phases: Child Directed Interaction (CDI) and Parent Directed Interaction (PDI).

PCIT teaches caregivers how to manage their child’s difficult behaviors, promote positive ones, and decrease caregiver stress. The therapist and caregiver work together to improve behavior. PCIT consists of at least weekly sessions and can be conducted with one or two caregiver family members. PCIT is currently only available online.
